Medical Assistant (MA) Course

Our Medical Assistant course is designed for those who learn best in the traditional classroom setting along with an online component. This program offers students to learn back office (clinical) skills at an accelerated pace compared to other programs. One on one personalized career exploration will be provided via clinical externships and current medical partners with IMA. Job placement during and after our program is our biggest goal for all students. While job placement is not guaranteed, we will provide all the assistance with clinical outings and paths for employment in the healthcare field around treasure valley. In addition, completion of this course will provide students a path to sit for a national medical assistant certification exam if they choose to do so.

Learn Your Skills in 4 Months

During your IMA Clinical MA course, you will learn to perform duties that include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, removing sutures, changing dressings, administering medications as directed by a physician, and more!

Students will also cover basic administrative skills to prepare you for employment at the end of the course.

Registration

Registration fees include the complete course, your rental textbook, online interactive study materials, national exam guides (national exams require additional cost), personalized externship opportunities, background check (if applicable), and your BLS/CPR certification.

With Idaho Medical Academy

Multiple payments are accepted. Half of the total tuition must be paid prior to the start date of the registered course. The remaining balance can be split into three additional separate payments. A 10% fee is applied to the remaining unpaid tuition balance at the start of class.

Course Requirements

A current GED or equivalent in order to be eligible by national guidelines. You must be 18 years or older or 16 with guardian permission. A current American Heart Association BLS or CPR certification is a requirement to graduate the course. The BLS course will be offered during your program.

Idaho Medical Academy LLC is recognized as a training institution by the Idaho Department of Emergency Medical Services and is registered as a proprietary school with the Idaho State Board of Education.

The Medical Assistant course was designed to prepare students for employment opportunities and national certification. During each course there will be options for externships to broaden your experience as an MA. Idaho Medical Academy offers in house testing for NHA while other national certifications are taken online or at a 3rd party testing site.
