Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this training, the student will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, and scope of practice of pharmacy technicians.
Demonstrate knowledge of medical math as used in pharmacy technician practice.
Demonstrate knowledge of prescription processing, including legal requirements, varying prescription formats (e.g., retail vs. institutional, e-script, paper prescriptions, etc.), and insurance billing.
Demonstrate knowledge of the legal and ethical framework of pharmacy technician practice.
Demonstrate professionalism as it relates to pharmacy technician practice.
Demonstrate an understanding of pharmacology and human physiology at a level appropriate to pharmacy technician practice

Idaho Medical Academy LLC is recognized as a training institution by the Idaho Department of Emergency Medical Services and is registered as a proprietary school with the Idaho State Board of Education.

Our Pharmacy Technician training is designed to prepare students to work in retail as well as hospital pharmacies. Students participate in a simulated clinical experience in a lab setting.
